Pair of Spanish Brass and Marble Electrified Oil Lamps With Etched Glass Shades. These unusual lamps are made of heavy cast brass bases with handled urn oil cavities with pedestals that sit on round brown and white mottled marble slab bases. The surfaces of the urns have intricate designs featuring cherubs playing horns on the front and sprays of flowers on the back. The original shade holder and crown are also brass with matching intricate scrolling designs. The large frosted glass shades have scrolling and floral patterns with butterflies and flowers both on the top opening and the lower "bulb" section. These stunning lamps measure 28" high overall and 11" wide at their widest points. These are heavy - about 27 lbs each - each base weighs 21 lbs and each shade 5.5 lbs. Shades are removable and fixed in place with screws on the shade fitter (a traditional method typical to Victorian oil lamps). Original working electrical wiring which includes clear gold cording with matching 2-prong plugs. One lamp is has a brown rotary switch integrated into the chord and the other lamp has a brown turn switch on the socket. Ivory laminated paper covers on the bottom of the bases with original product number and "Made in Spain" tags. In very good condition with patina and wear commensurate with age. Some very small chips along the bottom edge of the shades where they fit into the shade holder crown and a couple on the top edge (see photos for details). Some slight bend and a rust spot apparent in the brass shade holder crowns. Bottom paper cover on one of the lamps has a fold in it. See photos & video for details on condition.
