Vintage 1970s, Florentine gold embossed mottled tan/brown smooth leather wrapped wood Jewelry Box with Key. This cube-shaped box has a hinged lid with interior brass hinges, embossed trim on the top as well as the interior edges, a clear glass viewing window and a working interior brass lock with a silver metal key decorated with a small black tassel. The interior is lined in tan suede and has single compartment on the left half and 4 2-ring racks and a small square compartment on the right. The box also has a lower drawer with an embossed face and interior edge, round pull knobs and tan suede interior. The bottom of the box is covered in dark brown moire fabric and has brown felt protectors on the corners. The box measures 8 3/8" square and 5 5/8" high. The interior compartments are 4 3/8" by 7 1/4" for the top left and 2 1/2" by 2 7/8" for the small one on the right. The lower drawer measures 6 1/2" by 7" by 1 1/2" high on the inside. Overall, the box is in very good vintage condition, with little exterior wear except on the bottom where the fabric shows worn corners and some water spots - see photos for details. The interiors are clean and ready for a lovely collection of jewelry pieces. A handsome box with a classic design, perfect for a well appointed closet or vanity or makes a beautiful gift!
