Vintage, modern wood valet/ dresser / decor box, hand made of quilted maple, cherry and wenge woods with completely hinged lid and a black velour-lined interior. Inlay medallion on the top of the lid made of various woods in an abstract pattern with a gold leaf surround. Made by Michael Mikutowski in his studio in Wisconsin, USA (has since been purchased and continues to operate under his name, making such handcrafted boxes with an extended team of artisans). Makers mark stamped on left top of the bottom of the box. This beautifully made box measures 13" wide, 6 1/2" deep and 2 3/4" high overall and11 3/4" by 5 1/4" by 1 3/8" deep inside. Lid opens on brass hinges. In very good condition with some small, slight dents in the inside edges from use and slightly faded logo on bottom. Carefully and expertly crafted with a combination of inlay and solid woods in a modern style with traditional beveling of the panels and trim and gloss finish, this box is not simply a storage solution but a beautiful decorative item as well. The handsome design is suitable for men and women and this box is suitable as a decor item in any room.
