Vintage 1960s, wood clothing Hanger with Advertising for the Uplander Motor Hotel, in Upland, CA. Upland, originally a master planned community supported by fruit cultivation, was incorporated in 1906, and later became as a suburb of Los Angeles as the town was admired for its residential neighborhoods. This mid century luxury hotel was located at the intersection of Hwy 66 and Euclid Ave, on Foothill. The post modern design campus included several buildings that surrounded a rectangular, heated pool and had a parking lot and covered portico facing the street. The facility, managed by Master Hotels group, included AC and free TV as well as room service. This hanger was one of a number of branded accessories used on the property. The hanger with metal hook was made by Magel of Austin, Texas and embossed and printed with the Uplander Motor Hotel name and Master Hotels logo. The manufacturer name is embossed (without ink) on one end of the hanger. This coat or suit hanger (with pants rail) measures 18" wide by 8 1/2" high and 3/4" thick. In very good condition - see photos for details. A fun item or someone connected to Upland, 1960s southern CA design, to add to a collection or make an interesting display.
