Set of 3, vintage 1970s, studio art pottery Pieces with brown and sage spotted glazes, two of which are signed. This collection consists of a decorative plate or catchall, a weed pot and a bulb-shaped, wide mouth vase that all have similar coloring with enough variation in the glaze treatments and textures to make each piece interesting on its own. The plate, with a high relief, textured and almost painterly glaze in rich brown on a sand and sage-hued smooth background measures 7 3/8" diameter and 1" high. The weed pot with a smooth and gently spotted glaze has a standing neck and narrow base, measuring 4 1/2" diameter and 3 1/4" high. The vase has a heavily spotted smooth glaze which shows the ridges created by the hands shaping the pot on the wheel. It measures 5 1/4" in diameter at it widest and is 3" high. The plate and the vase are signed by the potters, as shown in the detailed photos. The weed pot is unsigned but created in a similar spirit to the others. All these pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, breaks or other visible damage - see photos for details. A handsome set of hand thrown pottery to enhance a coffee table or shelf or each piece makes an attractive item for holding keys, showing off flowers or holding pencils.
