Vintage, hand hammered, extra large solid brass Vase. This "genie bottle" shaped vase has a wide "belly", stepped and curved neck, and fluted top opening, which makes it great for displaying tall branches or palm leaves. The vase measures 16" high and is 13" wide at the center of its "belly". The top opening is 7" in diameter. The vase weighs 3 lbs, 13 oz. and the base sits on a 1/4" rim that is 6 1/4" in diameter and keeps the vase stable. The outside is polished and smooth with little trace of the original hammer work. However, the even hammer pattern of the tools used in making this vessel is visible on the interior, with only minor polishing done. This vase is in very good condition with minor wear commensurate with age: few small dings around the "belly" as shown in detailed photos and some slight tarnishing on the lower parts of the interior. Cleaned and ready to use. A stunning vase with simple Art Deco or modern style that is perfect for a large arrangement on a table or placed on the floor.
