Vintage, mid century modern, Alpaca (Mexican) silver Knife or Letter Opener with a fish shaped handle inlaid with mother of pearl, abalone and onyx. The mouth of the witty, large eyed fish that is the handle is made to be wide open to serve as an easy bottle cap opener. The blade is dull, intended to be used to peel bottle seals at a bar or as a letter opener. The piece has that distinctive Alpaca silver golden glow due to the combination of copper, zinc and nickel in the metal. In very good condition, only some small scratches on one section of one side of the blade as shown in photos. A fun, modern designed item to add to a bar or an office. Makes a great gift!
