Marbro Verdigris Patina Chinese Jar Table Lamp

Vintage, mid century, verdigris patina finish, Chinese ceramic jar Table Lamp by Marbro Lamp Company. This ancient Chinoiserie style lamp has an archaic Shang Dynasty Fenglei design wine jar complete with high relief symbolic patterning and dual phoenix handles and carries a sanded back, green glaze finish found on typical James Mont pieces. The vase sits on a traditional Chinese footed, cherry colored wood stand. The lamp is topped off with a adjustable dual sockets with pull chains with solid brass ball ends and a solid brass finial. The sockets are new but all other electrical parts are original and in working order. The gold chord has a white two-prong plug and an in-line rotary switch. As is typical of Marbro lamps, the base jar and the wood stand were likely sourced from China and brought to Los Angeles, where the company assembled the lamps using domestic electrical parts. The original company sticker can be found between the sockets. This substantial lamp weighs just over 22 lbs., measures 39 1/2" tall from the bottom to the top of the finial and 10" wide at its widest point (without the shade). The base measures 23" to the top of the "jar". The wood base measures 8" in diameter. This lamp is in very good condition, with minor wear on the base and some tarnish on the top metal parts - see photos for details. Shown with various lamp shades but does not ship with shades or bulbs. A handsome and impressive lamp that adds drama and character to any room.
