Vintage 1970s, 4-light, hand crafted pewter Candelabra by La Bottega del Peltro. This low candelabra in traditional European Renaissance style with elegantly scrolled arms, an urn-shaped finial centering the arms and double-banded edges on the arms and candle cups is one of the traditionally styled pieces that La Bottega del Peltro has been known for. This candelabra is marked on the bottom of one of the candle drip pans with 3 marks - one for the pewter purity 95%, indicating the pewter is food -safe and lead free - 95% pure premium tin allow and 5% harding metals such as copper and antimony. The marks are for La Bottega del Peltro with the initials L and T for the founder, Giorgio Tabellini, the shield typical of European marks and the image of 3 mountain peaks that come from the coat of arms of Bagolino, Italy where the La Bottega del Peltro workshop is located - see below Notes for background on La Bottega del Peltro. The candelabra measures 8 1/4" wide and 6" high and weighs 1 lb, 13 oz. Candle cups fit standard taper candles. Overall, the piece is in very good condition with some visible scratches on the top of the drip pans. A lovely, folk art Candelabra that makes a lovely accent or lights up the center of a small table on its own.

La Bottega del Peltro was founded in 1970 in the medieval town of Bagolino, in the province of Brescia, Northern Italy, drawing on centuries-old metalworking traditions native to the Lombardy region. The workshop was established with the goal of creating high-quality, handcrafted pewter tableware, drinkware, and home decor that reproduced the look and feel of antique Italian pewter. Every item was cast and finished entirely by hand using traditional molds and techniques, incorporating subtle surface wear marks and distressing to give reproductions an authentic, antique patina. In 2019, production operations were consolidated and moved to a workshop in the city of Brescia, where La Bottega del Peltro was integrated with Cosi Tabellini, another renowned Italian pewter workshop. Today, items bearing the GT hallmark of La Bottega Del Peltro continue to be produced by hand alongside Cosi Tabellini collections, blending classic Renaissance-inspired silhouettes with modern decor sensibilities.
