Vintage, hand made, small ceramic Pot or Jar by South Danbury Pottery (New Hampshire) with a knob-style handled lid and hand painted, indigo blue and mustard yellow, columbine-type stems on the front under the clear glaze. This squat pot measures 5 3/4" in diameter and is 3 1/4" high with the lid on and measures a hefty 1 lb and 4.4 oz. The inside space for beans, jam, etc. is 4 1/8" in diameter and 1 1/2" high. Embossed with "South Danbury, N.H." on the bottom edge and the signature "Schmitt" of the potter in the bottom center. This pot is in excellent condition, with no chips, breaks or crazing. A perfect item for a rustic or country kitchen or to gift someone some homemade jam or other goodies.
