Vintage, gilt sterling silver Norway Cities Souvenir Demitasse Spoons with enamel details by N.H.Thune of Oslo in their original faux crocodile textured leather box. Each spoon handle reads the name of each city in gold on either a white enamel background or gold ground and is topped with the coat of arms of that city colored in enamel: Hammar, Lillehammer, Tonsberg, Dramen, Horten, Oslo. Each spoon measures 4" long and 1" wide. The box (6" by 6" by 1" high) holds each of the spoons in its own compartment and is lined with fine ivory colored velvet to protect the silverware. Stamped 925 on the reverse. N. M. Thune was established in 1857 by Nils Thune and is known for producing high quality silver and gold jewelry as well as cutlery, vases and other decorative objects made from precious metals, winning awards for its designs. Its designs are characterized by their intricate detailing and use of Norweigan motifs and are highly collectible. The company distributes its wares through a series of its own stores as well as to other high end retailers worldwide. These spoons are in excellent condition. The box is overall in very good condition with a few brown spots on the velvet lining - see photos for details.
