Vintage, 1970s, brutalist, laser cut metal, kinetic, banker caricature Sculpture by artist David A. Wright. This small, humorous, wiggling figurine measures 7" high and sits on a wood base that is 7.5" wide and 3.5" deep. David Wright, a native of Portland Oregon and now based in San Diego, started his career as an artist making wire sculptures as a hobby. After completing his degree in computer programming, Wright quickly dedicated his time to making object and jewelry from metal, finding a large audience for his chrome sheet metal earrings and pins, decorated with paint or through the use of heat applied to the surfaces, many of which are still available today. The artist's stamp is still visible on the bottom of the base, though somewhat faded: it is an oval that reads "Put a little wiggle in your life", Sculpture by Wright, "Touch us we wiggle"; the standard stamp that was applied to his pieces of the time. This sculpture is in overall good condition with rust and wear to the metal surfaces and some age apparent to the base. A super fun piece to surely bring a smile to anyone connected to finance, accounting or business! A fun gift!
