Vintage 1950s / 1960s, mid century modern large oval, teak Serving Tray with pewter rim and handles by KMD Royal Holland KMD Tiel Daalderop (purveyor of pewter and silver for the Dutch Royal family). This handsome tray was originally designed to accommodate serving with the company's modern style pewter coffee and tea service sets of the period (see photos). Note that the Art Deco style handles match the handles of the early tea service pieces that are spherical in shape. "Made in Holland" mark on underside of one of the handles. This large tray measures 21" wide (including handles) and 12" deep with standing or "gallery" sides that are 1 1/4" high. The tray weighs a hefty 2 lbs, 9 oz. In good overall condition, with wear evidenced by scratches and tarnish to the pewter parts. The teak , in very good condition, has been cleaned and oiled on both sides with food grade mineral oil. A handsome tray for serving, staging a coffee/tea set or great for styling a coffee table.
