A pair of original 1950s mid-century modern Pendants from Lightcraft of California's "Royal Danish" line of residential light fixtures. This pair features hand-blown Danish opaline glass shades styled after prominent mid-century Scandinavian silhouettes. Suitable for a mid-century modern kitchen island, dining table, or entry foyer installation.

Fascinating Provenance:

These fixtures were carefully salvaged from a 1950s mid-century modern home in Lompoc, California. This neighborhood was originally developed in the 1950s specifically to house elite technical and engineering staff working on advanced defense systems for the US military at nearby Vandenberg Air Force Base. In addition, Lightcraft itself was an influential producer of lighting and hardware during the building boom years of the mid century (see below in NOTES).

Design & Engineering Features:

Premium Danish Glass: Elongated whiskey-snifter shaped shades featuring satin finish white glass on the interiors and a sleek, clear glossy finish on the exteriors.

Slanted Ceiling Compatibility: Outfitted with polished cast brass pendant stem hardware featuring a ball-joint articulation at the top. This allows the fixtures to hang perfectly plumb on the angled or vaulted ceilings characteristic of MCM architecture.

Authenticity Intact: Retains all original components, including ceramic E26 medium-base sockets, wiring, and original red UL and Lightcraft manufacturer stickers inside the canopies

Dimensions:

Total Fixture Height: 12"

Shade Height: 8"

Maximum Diameter: 6"

Bottom Shade Opening: 3 3/4" (Inner lip opening: 3 1/2" - perfectly sized to change light bulbs easily without removing the glass shade).

Detailed Condition Report (Please Review Photos):

Overall in very good vintage condition with honest signs of age:

Glass: Minor flea bites along the ground edges of the shade openings. One shade has a tiny, surface crack located strictly on the hidden inside edge (detailed in photos).

Metalwork: Light brass finish loss on the aluminum shade caps; faint, localized scratches around the screw holes on the ceiling canopies.

Hardware: The ceiling canopies are missing the small, ball-headed mounting screws used to attach the canopy dome to the ceiling bracket (easily sourced at a local hardware store).

Wiring: Original wiring is intact with exposed ends. Due to age, these fixtures require professional rewiring prior to installation.

Shipping:

Double-boxed and fully insured shipping via USPS, FedEx or UPS. If you are interested in receiving your item sooner, shipping upgrades will be offered and charged to your order. We also offer combined shipping, should you find something else of interest in our store.
