Set of 6, vintage, gilt sterling silver Demitasse or Espresso Spoons with guilloche enameled handles and back of spoon bowls by famous Norwegian jewelry house, David Andersen. Each spoon has a striped guilloche pattern on the handles and a shell motif in the enamel on the back and comes in a different color - white, baby blue, yellow, royal blue, grass green and blood red. Stamped "D.-A. Norway Sterling 925" on the back neck of each spoon. Each spoon measures 4" long and 7/8" wide and weighs 0.4 ounces. Set comes in its original hinged, fabric-covered box embossed in gold with the figure of St. Hallvard, the martyr who is depicted on the coast of arms of the city of Oslo (where David Andersen is located) and the David Andersen stamp on the inside cover. David Andersen was started by its namesake in 1876. When his son Arthur too over the business following his death in 1901, the firm started to produce enameled items and tableware, both of which the company has been known for since. Arthur also started contracting with outside designers to keep the firm's selection fresh. Today, the company is run by the 5th generation of Andersens and continues to offer a wide variety of jewelry and table pieces. This set is in excellent condition, never used, in the original box.
