Vintage, Art Nouveau style, hand cut, blown glass Decanter Set with 11 matching stemmed small wine or cocktail Glasses. This set was made in the "Black Forest" region of northwestern Romania, although it is a product referred to as Toscany, which represented a number of glass pieces that were made in Romania, Poland and other glass producing areas using the traditions of Italian glass makers. The footed decanter has a sinuous shape that holds the contents of a standard bottle of wine, is topped with an oblong fitted stopper. The cut motif is a bouquet of leaves with an arc of blossoms surrounding it. The decanter measures 17" tall overall (with the stopper in), with a base of 4 1/2" in diameter. The glasses measure 7 5/8" high with a 2 3/4" diamet4er base and 2 1/2" diameter rim. The glasses each have the bouquet of leaves motif cut into one side. The set is in excellent condition, clean and ready to use. This lovely set, with an unusual number of accompanying glasses, is perfect for a celebratory event of up to 10 people with an additional glass in case of breakage or an unexpected guest.
