Vintage, hand painted ceramic Bundt-style Cake Mold made in the Alscacian Region of France and brought to the US in the 1970s. This traditional Alsacian folk art piece is decorated with blue cornflowers and leaves, decorative sets of dots and flourishes in dark red and ivory on a brown background with a high gloss glaze. The glazed but unpainted interior is a terracotta color with the marker's mark and holes for hanging. Although these molds are largely collector items which are hung for lively kitchen decor, they make a perfect "Kugelhupf", a butter cake with a loose crumb, perfect for coffee or breakfast with butter. This mold measures 7 1/4" in diameter and is 4" high, which allows for baking a treat that will be consumed in one day! This piece has a small crack on one edge as shown in photos but is in very good condition otherwise. Please see all photos and video for condition. A lovely piece for a collection to decorate a wall or kitchen shelf or to make a nice treat! (Kugelhupf recipes are plentiful online.)
