Italian hammered copper pieces of the 20th century have generally more simplified designs and shapes with little ornamentation so it is believed that this piece is late 19th century or older. It was found at a Swiss flea market carried by an Italian dealer who was selling it alongside a number of other small Italian items. The vase is in very good condition with dark patina and some small scratches apparent on the bottom - see photos for details. A charming piece for serving on a bar or to hold a small bouquet of fragrant blossoms or branches on a vanity or bathroom sink.
